BTSS has experienced disability support workers and team leaders who are person-centred, who provide support with daily living activities and community and social participation. Our teams are carefully recruited to suit the individual. BTSS are continuously creating a culture of open, ethical, professional and transparent support where the teams are encouraged, supported and mentored to further develop their skills.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is one of the ways the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) helps people with a disability live as independently as possible. Prior to the NDIS, SIL was known as Supported Accommodation. Our teams are highly trained in supporting participants in all areas of their life including, but not limited to, medication administration, personal care and engaging with their community.
This support is as little or as much support as required to meet the participants needs and ensure their dignity, respect and rights are upheld. We work with the Participant and their family to develop individual plans that outline goals, aspirations, and desires for independent living.BTSS is here to support you to develop and build your skills so you can live as independently as possible.
• Is there something you want to try?
• Is there something you want to learn?
• Is there something you enjoy and want to do more of?
• Do you want to catch up with friends or make new friends or find a volunteer role in the community?
Participants will also be supported and encouraged to be active within your community and engage in activities of interest and help to identify and support them in establishing and maintaining social connections.
Our experienced support staff are trained in actively using a positive behaviour support approach with our participants. Positive interactions occur using active communication skills and an educational approach to daily supports.
